Pool Rules

We love comments! Share your wisdom and your stories with others, and if you have ideas or concerns, we’d love to see them. However, that doesn’t mean that we appreciate people being jerks to one another on our blog. We know about the GIFT, and if that’s you in that comic, we have a few rules that will ensure that we stay on topic and can all play in the pool together.

  1. Treat other people the way you want to be treated. Read over your comment before posting, and if you wouldn’t like it if someone said that to you, revise your comment.
  2. Go easy on the profanity, please. Remember that people from all walks of life have to adult, and it’s not generally necessary to swear to get one’s point across in a forum of this type. We won’t step on the odd salty word, but if there’s a couple in every post, we’ll start moderating you.
  3. No discriminatory comments or personal attacks. You know what I mean. Great people talk about ideas, average people talk about things, but only small people talk about other people.
  4. Political and religious commentary is off-topic. Period. We’ll moderate and/or delete it immediately if we see it.

In short, what we really want our community to understand and practice is that there is a living, breathing person on the other side of the Internet, one who may be very different from you but who has the same rights and needs as you. Be aware of that, and we’ll all be okay.
